This walk affords close-up views of Sydney Harbour and the much photographed combinations of city skyline, Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It skirts Bradleys Head, an area saved from mining or any form of development by the newly formed Mosman Council in the 1890s. The bush-covered headland has been preserved in much the same state as it has been for thousands of years, although in places there are references to its past uses as an artillery post and as a fairground. In Springtime wild flowers abound. At various points around the loop you can get down to water’s edge or climb up to the ridge where you will find grassy picnic spots. After walking around the point you continue to skirt the foreshore past the Zoo Wharf and on to the site of the Curlew Camp, the most famous of Mosman’s 19th century artists’ camps. The walk ends with a climb up steps along the Northern boundary of the Zoo to Whiting Beach Road.
